The account is the highest level in the setup. You will have one account that relates to your 12Return subscription. On account level, you can set up a limited number of items. The items apply to your account in general. Several items can be set up on the account level and can be further specified on the portal level.
Under the account, you can define the portal or portals that are linked to your account. By default, you have one customer portal set up for your account and most of the setup items are at the portal level to provide you with maximum flexibility. Optionally you can set up multiple portals if you want to separate returns from different channels. Activating additional portals needs to be done by a 12Return administrator. Once that has been done, you can further setup these portals.
Under a portal, you can define the return types that are relevant for your returns process. A return type is a reflection of the return services from your return policy (such a "Return within 14-days return period). Many of the setup items under a portal can be allocated to a return type to provide you with maximum flexibility.
Logistics settings define the physical network (routes) of origin locations (regions), destination locations (destinations), return options (carriers).

Setting up 12Return will take about 2-3 hours depending on the number of portals and the number of languages that you wish to support. Each language requires content to be set up in different areas such as the portal, surveys, and emails.
